T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 Qualifying
All of the ICC’s major tournament hosts until 2031 were disclosed by the sport’s highest governing body last year. The ICC is set to host a major event year through 2031, according to the statement. Consequently, a large number of limited-overs cricket matches are scheduled.
The 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup will feature a record 20 teams, with a new group stage format designed to improve competition:
1. The initial Stage: Teams were divided into four groups of five, which differed from the conventional arrangement. The top two teams in each group advance to the Super Eight stage.
2. The super Eight Stage: The remaining teams are divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals.
3. Goal: Increase competitiveness and create a global platform for teams to demonstrate their talent, with unexpected twists in the pursuit of cricketing success.
4. Participating Squads: Twelve teams have already confirmed their participation, including both established cricketing nations and rising sides.
5. Qualifying Approach: The ICC will hold regional qualifiers to identify the remaining eight teams. This comprises one team from each of the Americas and East Asia-Pacific regions, as well as two teams from Africa, Asia, and Europe.
