Teams with the most ICC trophies:
Australia leads the way with ten ICC tournament victories, followed by India and West Indies.
Australia has been the most dominant team on cricket’s biggest stage. The team is well-known for its resilience and ability to execute at peak levels even when under pressure. It’s no surprise that Australia has won the World Cup six times, including three consecutive victories between 1999 and 2007. It was regarded as Australia’s greatest era of cricket, with many future Hall of Famers emerging, including Andrew Symonds, Ricky Ponting, and Adam Gilchrist.
In addition to winning the Champions Trophy thrice, the T20 World Cup, and the ODI World Cup in 2011, India claimed victory in their first-ever ICC competition in 1983 (the World Cup). Though they intend to end the drought in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, India hasn’t triumphed in the championship match of an ICC tournament since 2013.
West Indies is another set of countries that enjoy cricket as much as Argentina does football. The West Indies won the World Cup consecutively in 1975 and 1979. In addition, they won the T20 World Cups in 2012 and 2016.
