ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy Tour
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy Tour was kicked off last month in New York by two-time T20 World Cup champion Chris Gayle and USA cricketing star Ali Khan, who lit up the Empire State Building in the event’s unique blue and pink colours.
The Trophy then visited various monuments and historic locales in New York City, including the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, and The Edge, before activations at a New York Islanders NHL game and Penn Station let people to take photos with the Trophy.
The Trophy then traveled to Long Island and Nassau County, where it was greeted by a procession of emergency vehicles at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, which was still under construction. The venue will host nine T20 World Cup matches in June.
Team USA receives the Trophy at the Houston Space Station.
Next, the Trophy traveled to Texas and the Space Station in Houston, where it was received by Team USA, who were in town for a preparation camp. The trophy was then transported from Houston to Dallas’ Grand Prairie Stadium, where the United States and Canada will play the first match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June of this year.
Later, the Texas Rangers, the 2023 World Series champions, welcomed the T20 World Cup Trophy to their Arlington home park. To cap off the week in Texas, 3,000 people visited the Holi Festival in Frisco, where fans had the opportunity to be taken with the iconic trophy.
The Trophy Tour continues to South America.
The tour will now proceed to South America, stopping in Argentina and Brazil, two developing cricketing nations, before arriving in Jamaica in April.
